| About The Artist |
| Born and raised in Sudbury, Massachusetts, Brian Hannan had the rare pleasure of being influenced by the clash of New England landscapes, 70's music and the effect urban sprawl was having on his generation. At a very early age, Brian had an affinity for art and architecture. Eventually he moved to Columbus, Ohio to study Architecture at The Ohio State University. Being disillusioned by the program, Brian left the university to find his eventual true calling, Fine Art Photography. Practically self-taught in Photography, Sculpture and Multi-Media, he has had several exhibits as a new and emerging folk artist and has worked personally with national artists and educators. Brian is best known for his abstracts, rock & roll and portraiture photography. He always looks to the theory of the waking dream and the curiosity of the unknown. Influenced by such photographic artists as Moriyama, Wynn Bullock, Dorothea Lange, Yukara Shimizu, Byrd Williams, Miranda Lichtenstein, Frank Darius, Dirk Konigsfeld and Ralph Peters, he hopes to push forward an independent style that not only conveys a message, but brings out a personal and emotional response from his art work. Brian Hannan currently resides in Columbus, Ohio with his friends and loved ones. For the last several years, he has represented himself with the persona “The Retina’s Eye”. |
